Steel
Cold steel armor to hold the heat,
And iron bars act as a door,
Hiding away the burning core
As sly deceit,
But I’ve seen your light.
Dragging along your heavy wings,
Meant to help you fly.
But that’s a lie,
They hold you down like strings,
And laugh at your plight.
Dying out, but the fire will still burn.
I’ll feed my soul to the flames.
Break the weights and melt the the frames,
And take the freedom you yearn
Your spirit may run alight.
The glacial winds will bow in defeat,
And all the cool it brings.
The people’s heads will turn,
And they will learn.
You’re stronger than the kings.
People will still deplore
But I will not stand by.
They mean nothing by their claims,
Just to them deception and games,
And words left completely dry.
You see nothing but a shell, despite,
But you will know once you clear your sight.
And in that moment the world will ignite.
The angel will be reborn from the ashes.
