Steam Train

Steam Train.

Whoo! Whoo! The steam train hoots
as she passes through Glen Barrow.
Whoo! Whoo! Whoo! She hoots again
through our village streets so narrow.
It's half past nine from Northern Line
our steam trains never late
you hear her hoots a Whoo! Whoo! Whoo!
as she passes where I wait.
I wave to all the travellers that board her everyday.
Some going to work on this old steam train.
Then some just come to stay.
A holiday is why they come to the streets broad and narrow.
On this old steam train they come each day
as it passes through Glen Barrow.
Whoo! Whoo! I listen and know it's half past nine
because that's the only time of day this train comes through
this line.
