Stay With Me

Stay with me in that last adieu, take my hand and let it comfort you as a mother's tear falls lightly upon my cheeks silent in our sorrow, no words need to speak. Fill your mind with recollection of days slipped by in so many directions and the babe in arms who grew far too fast with childhood lost to memories of the past. Wrap your arms around me tight still the heartbeats wrestled in dreams of night I am here at your side no secrets remain to hide. Stay with me a moment longer perhaps I can accept this fate much stronger than the thoughts unbridled in my mind when love for a child was brave and kind before the years had slipped away and life separated life from foolish games to play. Stay with me a little while you are always my forever child held at birth close within my heart with faith and hope we'd never part. Stay with me as the night closes my eyes child of my youth. this is my last goodbye.
