Stay For Eterniy

Had it been so long ago,
A warm Autumn night as they walked
Hand and hand yet there was no
Place to go.
A lost little girl who reached out
To a friend,
A young man who wanted to belong
And gently took her hand.
He took her hand so gently
As they walked in the soft moonlight
He promise by her side he would
Always be.

Years passed by and they grew apart
He found his own life but him she never
Forgot.
At times when the moonlight is just
Right
She can close her eyes and feel his
Hand hold her tight
Somewhere in the place that holds
All memories
Those the two of them shared will
Stay for eternity

Very nice poem. Too bad it did not work out for the young woman. Sometimes memories are all we have

Thank you Oliver for your comment on my poem. Yes I agree it was too bad for the young woman but I still have the memories
