Stardust

Stardust fading into the moonlight on an autumnal evening,
One lonely night and all the bad memories cling,
I fell in love and we weren't even something,
Whilst I was nothing, you became my everything.

A curse to be a dreamer, being everything and nothing,
Love for a lost cause is poison and that's the thing,
The day I let you go, I realised I took a rose for a ring,
Oh it dawned upon me that we weren't even a thing.

Your eyes tied me to your chest,
Where my broken heart could rest,
Us dancing a tango around the mooncrest,
I only ever loved once, goodbye, my best.

I will never let you go from my heart, for you are the heart,
Rejuvenation from flaming endings will make mess of every start,
Pieces of you I try to find in every piece of art,
From my silly love feelings you will never be apart.

I use to write about love. Now I write about beauty. At times I wonder Did I ever have it. Coming to find it mostly ends in tragedy.

Oh the poems pain inspires. Poets bleed emotion onto paper, and all the world is emotionally wiser with the spilling. We tell others what they feel and cannot articulate. While I'm sure he isn't who you think but who you imagine, I do believe thru him the world has been gifted with your talent. Great Poem, Sweet Anne.

' A curse to be a dreamer, being everything and nothing. ' This thought reminds me something an Indian friend of mine once said. I'll never forget his wisdom. In love, but not getting those exact feelings in return, is painful indeed. Your thoughts touch my heart. Being able to feel the emotions of others is a blessing and a curse. I know this too well. My best to you, Anne. Hugs, Brandy

Dearest Brandy, feeling too much is intense and all consuming indeed. But that's what makes us human beings. Right? I hope it's all worth it. Love, Anne

Dear Anne, That feeling of being “nothing” while someone else becomes your everything? Oof. You captured that so clearly and not just heartbreak, but the kind that never really had a name to begin with. So lyrical and real. Autumn Blessings, Dear Anne, Daniel
