Stardom

A world as disconnected as hers, could never imagine true love in song-- she disregards the right and embraces what is wrong, her tears fade into ashes, and a burden pains her still, she is blinded by the flashes-- and consumed by her own free will, yet all the world still loves her-- her resplendent charm in the eyes of the masses, as she shines luminously under a spot light, torn away from everyone who trespasses-- a sea of worshipers and not a friend in sight, there was nothing she did not own, magic white lines carry her to bliss, lonely thoughts puncture her troubled mind-- she dwells on the softness of her mothers kiss, reminiscing of memories she can not leave behind, but now she is the starlet she longed to be-- who should really take the fall for this pain? because the idea, after all, is to simply entertain.

Tragic, seems like too many starlets end up like this. Great poem.
