Star of the Sea

Upon the battered shore of life
                  As waves crest and descend
                    Remains a life yet hopeful
To one day try to mend
A sea star like no other
With one leg lost to sea
Gave up? Oh no not ever
For it knew that it will be
                   With hopes forever staying
For a wave to come and take
The sea star kept on praying
To find its way into the wake
As the sun got to its hottest
                Where hopes were dying fast
A wave had come upon him
To take him back at last
                Then there within the depths
With his friends under the sea
The sea star gave its thanks
For that wave that came to be
