Standing Tall

Standing Tall

Let me down easy
Break my fall
Give me a chance to leave
Standing tall
Don’t break my spirit
Don’t cause me pain
Don’t play me like
A Championship game

Don’t leave me thirsty
 In the burning sand
Don’t reach and then let go
Of my hand
Put aside
Your foolish pride
Free the demons
You like to hide

Escape the trap
That threatens to close
Around the deceit
Right under your nose
It’s a pity
When someone falls
And prevents others
And From standing tall
