Standing Tall
Rings show time passed,
Standing tall
Through seasons it lasts.
Every fall
Leaves fall and limbs sway,
Standing tall
Each and every day,
Bark like armor,
stronger.
Through seasons of change
Atop a mountain range,
During the spring leaves full of green
From afar it can be seen.
Hundreds of years
This tree stood tall,
Atop which animals crawl,
Hiding in holes
Within tree knots,
Stories told,
Seedlings begot.
Legacy long lasting,
Even after it’s passing,
Many have called it’s branches home.
Birds betrothed,
Chicks chirping in nest
And the squirrels like it best.
Standing tall
It’s the start of fall,
leaves crunch under feet,
Branches break over time,
Sap leaks from inside,
Acorns litter the ground beneath,
Wildlife is pleased
By this life bringing tree,
Who provides and protects
Standing tall,
Show it respect.
Memories run deep
Rings show time passed
Life continues to change
But this tree atop the mountain range
Stands planted firm and will always remain
