Standing Alone
To stand alone, it has often been said,
Is a practice that many, everywhere, dread.
It is, however, a way of life,
To a few until they be dead.
It’s easy to simply “go along”,
And with the masses sing their song.
However, way down deep you know,
The crowd is quite often wrong.
It takes some courage to walk away,
And to not, with the majority stay.
To “dare to be different” is not “un-cool”,
As you bravely, your courage display.
Remember, my friend, as your stand you take,
And your reputation you fearfully stake.
Remember the One, Who alone for you stood
And, you, to the end, did not forsake.
