Standing

He was standing on the bottom floor
An outline of his shadow
Darkened by the hour
In which he glanced up at her
She knew he would return
Only to be seen
Not to conversate
Only to redeem
Himself
She is the one he left alone
All by herself
She floats
Through another day, a dream
Never thinking he would leave

She didn’t know of love ‘till now
         Until she was completely broke.
               And now a broken heart…

is all of which she knows.
