Stand Up To Bullies
Stand up for the person always bullied
Defend the helpless when they are worried
Don’t do it to be rewarded or so you are owed a debt
Don’t do it to be applauded or for any praise you’ll get
Do it just because you can
strong enough to take a stand
Do it just to stop the suffer
Do it just to help another
Bullies think they are comedians
when they pick on weaker ones
Insulting jokes you’ve heard before
Not their own original
Picking on people smaller
or someone with no support
Never daring someone taller
unless they outnumber that sort
Some just enjoy your pain
believing they have felt much more
define those people as insane
they feel good when you look small
Kindness is not strength or weakness
But a decision after all
Intelligence that defines our creature
without which we will fall
Joining in to be popular
or too just stay safe
A barrier or mental blocker
says stay out the way
Stand up for someone else
and another will stand up for you
and you’ll never walk by yourself
but with a worthwhile few
It’s not impressive picking on the weak
using the same joke that was used last week
watching someone suffering always on repeat
choosing not to help or fight like armies who retreat
Stepping in will change the outcome
you will help someone
don’t be scared and don’t be doubting
what hasn’t been done
You’ll become someone to follow
a loyalty to you
because you stopped the pain and sorrow
a role not to abuse
Equal, kind, unharmingly,
on a quest, armed if you need,
Content, happy, harmony,
Strength that will see you succeed
*unharmingly - I invented that word - to be kind as a rule
