Stand On My Own

A Relationship
Don’t think I was quite ready
But I loved the thought of “Going Steady”
Walking down the street, holding your hand.
Being able to tell friends, “That’s my man”
But wanting it all so bad is where I went wrong.
I thought our love was strong
Bits and pieces are missing from our puzzle.
Which means we are not quite complete with each other.
I’m not a quitter but you will not push me over
Because the love I have for myself is enough for me alone
Believe me I can stand on my own.
