-stand Away-

From my youth do I remember
your tug upon my heart.
It has always been you Lord
and your call within my heart.

I have traveled to other lands
of my own choosing through the years;
to kingdoms within and having other plans;
not caring that Your Kingdom nears.

You watched as I sought out other gods
where self sat high on the throne.
But you, my God, have set me free
to the truth that You are God alone.

"Stand away from all that entangles."
Through my calling You've said,"Stand away."
It has always been You, Lord Jesus,
You've preserved me unto present day.

I stand away from what does not honor
You alone in my life every day.
From fleeting treasures through the years,
I daily choose to stand away.
