(An Acrostic) Sweet baby but helpless alone Teen years were a trial Adult enough to leave home Good advice in denial Everyone learns the hard way So sure they know what to do Only chance for retribution For you to see what they go through Life is good with their baby I see there's trouble with their teen Face it dear they have to leave Even though your counsel they demean

You are right. However, if mom and dad can't speak to the child without a condescending lecture instead of talking to them as a wiser friend, then they have no one to blame but themselves. Kids are people, not possessions and certainly not slaves. Just speaking from experience as having once been a child in a home where children were not valued.

That's very true. However there's a lot to be learned by experience that could be used but quite often is not! I knew very little about my parents experiences and so had to learn things on my own. Did my poem sound like a condescending lecture?? Guess I hit a soft spot there, sorry.(I was just trying to make the acrostic part of it work)
