Playing on the forest floor I saw squirrels, three. They scampered amongst the fallen leaves, Then scurried up a tree. I watched them in their antics As they leapt from bough to bough, Like acrobats on the high trapeze Performing for a crowd. Their joie de vivre apparent It filled my heart with glee, To see them running tail to tail, Those little squirrels, three.
