Sprung
I step outside the house this morning
And notice a change that's come without warning
Yesterday the air I breathed was bitter
So much so that it made me chitter
Today there seems to be a hint
Of the warmth coming after winter's stint
The atmosphere seems different too;
The sky, a slightly brighter blue
There's also a scent that I remember
Disappeared completely around last September
It seems to be returning now
And is that a shoot on that high bough?
I, myself, feel different as well
There's a certain optimism casting it's spell
Over my usual gloomy bent
Changing my mood to one of content
Looking around at the once bare earth
I see the signs of brand new birth
I smile at the world, it's new life still young
It seems, that finally, Spring has sprung
