Springtime Perplexity
I gaze out of my window,
at the clouds up in the sky.
There’s snow, high on the mountain tops.
I have to wonder why?
Spring, officially began,
eight weeks, or so, ago.
But, it’s still cold and windy here.
Seems, Winter doesn’t really, want to go!
It isn’t, bitter cold, right now,
but, it just seems, to me,
it’s much colder, at this point, in time,
than it should ever be!
Well, I better mind my P’s and Q’s,
‘cause there ain’t nothing I can say,
that’s gonna change the way things are,
“Mother Nature”, hasta, have her way!
Summer is due in five more weeks.
Then Springtime will be gone!
Consequently, we’ll go right from warm to hot.
Which, in a sense, I feel, is wrong!
Spring is such a lovely season.
One of show and tell.
“Mother Nature” exhibits her magnificence,
and shows that all is well!
Trees and grass both turning green.
Songbirds sing their song.
Flowers show their many colors.
Streams and rivers move along!
Each season has its good points.
That, I must admit!
But, Spring is something special,
that’s why, I kinda, favor it!
I get a feeling, quite unique!
But only, in the Spring!
The other seasons just don’t give,
it’s a special, Springtime thing!
I really can’t explain it,
despite how hard I try!
I just feel, so relaxed, at this time of year!
Spring, must be the reason why!
Yes, Spring will get here, when it gets here.
That’s the way it has to be!
Maybe it can steal some time from Summer,
I’ll just have to wait and see!
