Springs Warmth

Echoes in my essence 
rode a cold frigid breeze 
Snowflakes would ride along 
bringing a deeper freeze 

Words upon winter's breath 
seen each time i spoke
White warm puffs dance 
whimsical floating smoke 

Toes and fingertips tingled
a cold that almost burns 
Beauty in this winter land 
Yet spring's warmth i yearn

John Fleming Date: 12/8/2019 8:58:00 AM What I like about this brief but enchanting poem is the way it so ably conveys the very essence of what we can all find very appealing and magical in a frozen landscape which is that of Winter; I Like the opposing sensations offered by the descriptions of the cold contrasting against the thin rising wisps of cheery fireside smoke...most comforting.
