Springs Warmth

Echoes in my essence 
rode a cold frigid breeze 
Snowflakes would ride along 
bringing a deeper freeze 

Words upon winter's breath 
seen each time i spoke
White warm puffs dance 
whimsical floating smoke 

Toes and fingertips tingled
a cold that almost burns 
Beauty in this winter land 
Yet spring's warmth i yearn

What I like about this brief but enchanting poem is the way it so ably conveys the very essence of what we can all find very appealing and magical in a frozen landscape which is that of Winter; I Like the opposing sensations offered by the descriptions of the cold contrasting against the thin rising wisps of cheery fireside smoke...most comforting. Lovely poetry! P.s love the way you end it...very wistful.
