Spring's Debut

When Winter's grip eases,
Spring sends tepid breezes;
but water still freezes
and storms renew.
On hearing birds singing
and Easter bells ringing,
icicles stopped clinging;
and winds withdrew.
A snowman melts away
as Spring marks its doomsday;
and pools by the walkway
bid it adieu.
Amidst rivers flooding,
pussy willows budding
and prairie grouse thudding;
it's Spring's debut.
As the green leaves unfold,
it's a sight to behold
poised upon Spring's threshold;
life starts anew.
