Spring Return

I’m driving through the night again, Just like I did those years before; Somehow it felt like coming home, When I first showed up at your door I still remember, even now, The first time that I saw your smile, When you were walking on the porch, And I was happy, stiff, and tired And I can always picture it— So clear and vivid in my mind— The first time that I held your hand, And kissed you on the couch that night I kept your love for thirteen years, Long buried in December snow, But now that Spring has come at last, I feel how much my love has grown.
