Spring Haiku

With May nearly out-
Sprouting the bloom of new life
The lamb lies nearby

Summer begins soon-
Warmth to firm the sagging land,
Earth renews its hold

The heat touching me-
Thaws me inside-opening
Pleasure's smiling lips

Listening to sounds-
Music stirs the dancing heart,
Beating tuned sublime

What cost will be paid-
Love's temptations, all but spent?
Warm thoughts will return.
