Spring Forever

Spring Forever

Suppose that spring would come today,
And you were told it were here to stay.
Would you cheer with delight?
Or would you run in sudden fright?

Alas, spring all the time,
Why, the thought should just chill your spine.
To hear the birds chirp with glee,
And hear the buzz of each little bee.

To see the blanket of new grass,
And see the frog make its first splash.
Just give us spring forever more,
For that’s the season we all adore.

As spring waves a triumph goodbye,
The thoughts can make you cry.
Spring will soon be in the past,
And we must enjoy it while it lasts.
