Spring Bows To Summer

spring bows to summer

spring bows to summer
long nights give way to daylight ~
  footprints on the sand

cold days nod to warmth
days comes early then leave late ~
  shooting star pizzazz

frost curtseys to dew
empty fields burst with blossoms ~
  bird songs fill the dawn

tree buds smile with leaves
barren limbs expand with life ~
  forest greenness thrives

moonlight swaddles night
moon shadows dance in rondeaus ~
  summer bows to spring

Hi Jennifer! Please forgive my late response! I couldn't remember which one of your lovely messages I had not responded to earlier this month! Please accept my heartfelt gratitude for your beautiful message. Like you I'm concerned for our big blue marble in the sky. Keeping it safe is our stewardship from God. I am so happy you enjoyed this seasonal romp - truly a dance of life! Summer has been a little frenetic but I am enjoying the long days and warm weather knowing that fall will soon be upon us as it is upon you. Sending you autumnal blessings dear friend.

Amazing Sam, how we wait for one good haiku to come along, then you send us a whole bunch of them, each tying in with the next, what a masterful twist to juxtapose start and finish, brilliant, cheers David

I am deeply honored by your uplifting message David. Thank you many times over. I kept seeing the seasons connected in a rondeau dance. I believe "the soup" has both taught me about and encouraged me to try my hand at haiku - a poetry form I have come to both admire and love! It looks so simple yet the challenge is in the simplicity! I am so happy you enjoyed this haiku string. Have to give Tom Cunningham credit for teaching me about haiku strings. His are brilliant! All the best. Cheers!

Pangie, thank you ever so much! It has taken me a long time to learn to write haiku. I blush when I look at my first attempts. Have learned to love crafting them. I have a feeling with your talent for sharp imagery and precise language that you could write some amazing haiku! Hope you are doing well - continued healing! Hugs and blessings to you my friend. Looks like we're going to get a couple of very hot days! Stay cool!

this is very cool and how you made the ending similar to the beginning. I especially liked frost curtsying.

Andrea, thank you so much! I just couldn't get the image of a dance of the seasons out of my mind - a vivacious, courtly dance. I am so glad that translated into the haiku string! Blessings!
