Spring

Winter has given its last chilly breath And the dead leaves have finished their dance of death Green saplings burst from down below As the water starts to flow Warmth starts to flood the once icy land Replacing the frosty winds that all had to withstand Dew drops slide down the lifeless twigs Onto the saplings who will soon be big Squirrels quickly scatter from their homes Wanting to begin to roam The birds start to sing sweet melodies Pleasing the ears of everybody The kids pack away their woolly clothes And run across the ground with their bare toes They begin to scatter up newly green trees And look out to all they can see Those who were in hibernation Wake up to see the lands new creation They climb out of their darkened dens And say hello to their old friends The smells of flowers now appear And everyone is excited which is clear They sit on their new picnic mats Enjoying their friendly and happy chats The winter has been left behind While the sun has be left unbind It’s waiting for its chilly return But it’ll have to wait for it’s the suns turn 25/06/2017
