I truly enjoyed the twist at the end here, David! It really gave me that "aha!" moment, and found your comparison unique and smile-inducing. Big congrats on your win in Chris' contest :D!

I am glad to see here that she accepts implied metaphors. I love when people use them in their haiku. This is wonderful. Congrats on your win.

Thanks so much for the entry what you have done in line 3 is called an implied metaphor- it's very tricky to do & I didn't expect anyone to do it! I did not want anyone to use overt metaphor [ the tree looks like a lollipop] because that is subjective opinion - but what you have done is show us a bridal party in a scene with a formation of mallard ducks flying above & in the readers minds eye they DO picture both at the same time & note the similarity! HUZZAH
