Spring 2020

Spring 2020 No-one’s told the sun not to shine no-one’s told the birds not to sing, sounding their joy at cloudless skies with the welcome advent of Spring! No-one’s told buds not to open, no-one’s said flowers cannot bloom, bare branches covered with colour, filling the air with their perfume. Daffodils unfold in the sun, crocuses, primulas appear, happy to wake from winter sleep, bringing us all much-needed cheer. While we are forced to isolate because of deadly diseases created by humans treating animals with contempt, with no regard for their wellbeing. When will these people ever learn to give our world and all it holds, the kindness and respect deserved, before Earth and all within, folds. Ruth Mawdsley 26/3/20
