Notes About The Poem

Spring
Well we made it through the winter,
It sure was a dragged out thing.
But now there’s a new excitement,
The birds are starting to sing.
People’s smiles are getting wider,
Where before there wasn’t a grin.
They’re starting to act the way they did
Before winter did them in.
Yes now the sun is shinning again.
There’s happiness in the air.
Gone is the heavy wardrobe,
And fashion is everywhere.
The difference is all around us,
On each and every street,
Neighbours, friends, and children,
All smiling when they meet.
It’s such a wonderful feeling,
To hear a songbird sing.
And just like us he’s happy,
Happy that it’s spring.
