Spoken by the Dearly Departed’s Kin

“ “
Quote
raised,
aware
of silence
in the red-eyed night,
morning likewise in quietude
until the incessant dirge of Poe, the bells bringing
down the house, and in the garden, an eagle…
…throws its wings around the tombstone’s shoulders

Kim, I can visualize the quotation marks as the wings of the eagle around the tombstone. Interesting thought you have steered me to. Death has strange consequences that some find a source of mystery. Smiling!!

Great imagery, though a sad poem. But then that's how I love them. Hugs.
