Spoiled Grapes of Wrath

Written April 2, 2016 Queen of sovereignty Princess of denial It's more than just a river Take me down to your water's edge Where I'll wade in my gown To dip me in the name of the father, son, and the Holy Ghost Raise your glasses to a toast Though sinners promise not to boast If they hope to be redeemed Approach it now full head of steam Feel no pain White cotton shirt that bears the stain Red wine that bleeds out from the vines Of ivy vineyards overarching overpasses Where homeless men seek shelter from the masses Hoping that every day shines brighter than the last I pray for them in the name of those who have passed On But you're too far gone for the sounds of classical crescendos She's not impressed with your clever innuendos When you speak of breeding Ignorance and Want She can see through your allegorical alliteration That couldn't even save the nation From spoiled grapes of wrath

This seems a very deep one, Brandon, a sobering one. I wish I had more time to stay here and analyze it. Anyway, I can tell a lot of thought was put into this writing. Very intelligently done. (I have seen the movie Grapes of Wrath and really loved it, that old black and white version and its portrayal of poverty in those days)
