Split Decision

Split Decision

Sleepless but not in Seattle
My inner selves life long battle
World War III inside of my head
World War III all dressed in red...

Conflicted into having no winner
What am I? Just a beginner
Nowhere to retreat to or to run
This day was over before it begun...

Why can I not just agree with me
My own point of view I can't even see
Curious as to whether my pain does show
Curious to learn what I already know...

Quite the inner conflict, Brian. Sometimes I've written poems that share (almost) contradictory viewpoints ... the human mind is so complex! "Why can I not just agree with me My own point I can't even see" ... the biggest enemies are ourselves. Once that battle gets conquered everything else is simple. Great poem with interesting thoughts ... though I'm not sure if I'd call you a beginner.
