Spirit In the Night

Spirit in the Night
by Intoxcy8me

As I lie with my head on the pillow,
I see your spirit shining through my window.
Wishing that it could ease my pain,
And erase the memories from my brain.

Caught in a web of my own making,
Tired of the life I was escaping.
Shattered illusions so hard to ignore,
I've never felt like this before.

Standing still in the mist of time,
I bring you this passionate rhyme.
Silent memories of dreams long lost,
Sometimes Love has a terrible cost.

I lie here, crying... the mist all gone,
Was it a dream all along.
Maybe you was never there,
Giving the window another stare.

Suddenly I look up, feel your gentle touch,
That pleased me very much.
You wipe the tears from my face,
And all my fears you did erase.
