Spiraling Reflections

"If someone listens, or stretches out a hand, or whispers a word of encouragement, or attempts to understand a lonely person, extraordinary things begin to happen." ~Loretta Girzartis
---------------------- reminiscing reasons ruminating rhyme pondering reality recalling thoughts sublime never-ending pain unremitting sorrow evoking one recurring theme a farewell to tomorrow exhausted from the hunger disabled by the thirst consumed by each and every loss will ‘better’ make things worse thoughts embracing 'freedom' dissipating pain awaiting the tranquility after so much rain ----------------------
"I have learned now that while those who speak about one's miseries usually hurt, those who keep silence hurt more." ~C. S. Lewis
"Burden" (Lyrics) Let me carry your burden If something’s not right I will let you know Like the paint that’s drying on a heart that’s broke Let me carry your burden Get you back on a high when you’re feeling low When the weight’s too heavy but you won’t let go Come to me my brother and I will sit with you awhile Pretty soon I’ll see you smile And you know you will No matter how much you're hurting right now You know that everything will change in time So let me carry your burden Let me carry your burden When your might’s on fire but your mind is cold And you’re fanning flames that won’t keep you warm Come to me my brother and I will sit with you awhile Pretty soon I’ll see you smile And you know you will No matter how much you're hurting right now You know that everything will change in time Let me carry your burden, O brother mine Let me carry your burden Come tomorrow you’ll be right as rain It’ll quench your fire Wash away your stains Come to me my brother and I will sit with you awhile Pretty soon I’ll see you smile And you know you will No matter how much you're hurting right now You know that everything will change in time Oh I just might see it in another light Got no dog here in the fight I could carry your burden O brother mine Songwriter: Foy Vance

Wow, ^WW^ ~ thank you so much for the honor. Funny, I didn't think these words would be found satisfactory to many readers. I'm a little dumbfounded, but appreciative...

Timely message, so lyrically penned, H.T! As they say in Yiddish (translated to English here): If you've got problems, tell someone!! Cheers, Gershon

Telling someone usually does help lighten the load a bit... Thank you, Gershon.

We can take the pain, but let it be a reminder for all that suffer worse than us. Love Foy Vance

I'm not sure if taking the pain is the best way, though I have chosen it most often. I hope others will choose to reach out. Glad you like the music ;)

What a fantastic collection of art I have found here. The poem is amazing, like usual. The songs fits perfectly the thoughts expressed here as do the quotes. Those who keep it all in, suffer alone. I have been guilty of this as well. Not to want to burden another with my problems. Really cool my friend.

Thank you so much, Chris, for your thorough and uplifting review and share. To lessen the weight of another's burden often requires very little. I know you would be first in line for many if you could. Trust there are others who would do the same for you...

Wonderful poem! I also enjoyed that quote. I blab about my misery to everyone, which must be annoying to them. But maybe this means I hurt less!! I don't think anyone can carry our burdens of physical problems, but I'd pay good money to find a way to unburden myself of them! Obviously this speaks of emotional pain. I am happily free of that. YOur poem is a very good one for those with such struggles.

Thank you so much, Andrea for your generous insight. I think you are right. Physical hurt can cause emotional pain, in the end, and vice versa, but being able to speak about either or trusting enough to lean on another can help relieve some of the burden, I think.

foy Vance is a great singer... this is a deep write from your pen, the thing is we carry many a burden of others, and it weighs us down... at the end it comes down to a balance of holding on or letting go..

Yeah, I'm finding the perfect mood in his songs to match some of my pieces. I definitely agree with you, SO. It is important not to literally 'carry' the burden of another, but providing an ear, a shoulder, a smile, a prayer, if and when you have the strength yourself...goes a long way, I think.

i like how you set this one up....i think the saddest often pretend to be happy when inside they are dying...because they don't want the pain to show...but sometimes when on the verge of tears they will not speak because they don't want others to see...good write.... hugs
