Spiral

Please note this is NOT an indication of what I'm "about to do". I wrote this 5 1/2 years ago
when my depression was at it's worst.

I'm caught in this
downward spiral
Spinning out of control
This depression has
a grip on me
and won't let go

Sometimes shades of
light start to shine through.
Then it's back to reality
What should I do?

All the blades in the
world can't cut the chain,
alcohol won't drown the pain
Even with pills
it still remains
My life will
never be the same

I'm through with the battle,
I've lost the war,
There's no more options
for me to explore.
Death greats me warmly
at the door
Peace at last forever more.

Glad that this portion of your life is over and maybe writing will help some other person who is struggling with the problem. Nicely put together. Sara

I'm glad you overcame, welcome to the soup. Nice writing, I can see the anguish and depression.
