Spinning In the Dark
It’s never what I have to say
It’s always what I’ve done
Being measured up with hidden eyes
I’m barely hanging on
Underneath a world of grey
There’s darkness everywhere
There’s barely any light to see
These angels in despair
It’s never what I want to be
It’s only what I’ve lost
No more of what I want to do
Because I’m laughing up the cost
It’s underneath the things I have
It’s underneath my mind
Picking at my security
And hacking up my life
Underneath my decency
Underneath my soul
Deep inside my need to love
Deep down inside this hole
It was never what I thought it was
It’s only my design
Self-doubt inside a spinning dream
These dizzy eyes are mine
