There's something about spiders that don't agree with me
Though I understand their importance in nature's society
A wishful thought, I like to imagine, I have with them
Is to maintain a distance in our zone shared realm
But seems some like to crawl around and over me
Each time when it happens, I'm flailing wildly
Every little tickle feels me with horror and dread
Wondering if it's a spider I fear yet still respect
One was on my shoulder that appeared from nowhere
A teenager of its species if to guess an age that's fair
How and why they get on me is a mystery to me
I'm sure that ninja spider is teaching them with glee
When I was sleeping, one walked along my arm
Gauged it in the darkness then flicked it off without harm
I heard it land on something a short distance away
I felt brave and removed it when I saw it next day
Outside or inside, they always find a way on me
Maybe I should feel honoured not just feel unlucky
Not one has ever bitten me, they just give me a fright
I will never harm one, no matter their size or height
But wish they would stop giving such a scary surprise
With space all around them they have freedom paradise
Nature is my passion and respect all that lives within
But these spiders will steer me to drink a double gin.
