Spider

There's a spider in a tree I spied
Whose web I bet is 6 feet wide
Looks like a skull upon his back
Looks like he's ready to attack
I couldn't tell his actual size
Getting closer seemed unwise
His body was the brightest yellow
But I don't think he's a friendly fellow
For don't you know this cause célèbre
Had intertwined within his web
Many morsels neatly spun
While he sits and waits for another one
I touched his web - a sticky string
He turned and looked as if to spring
I never turned, just backed away
Harassing spiders doesn't pay
