Spellbound
Christmas Day in London many years ago
A little girl was looking out of the window at the snow
That was drifting down gently from the sky
She was mesmerised by this scene
Let me tell you why
It was like a picture
Ever-changing as she looked
All appeared magic as in a picture book
The snowflakes fell softly covering the ground
Everything was very still not a single sound
The little girl was spellbound
As the outside had turned white
Snowflakes hanging from the trees
Sparkled like diamonds to delight
This little girl who stood very still
Staring at the snow gathering on her window sill
The girl at the window
Was someone that I know
She told me she would always remember
The beauty of that Christmas when it snowed
I wrote this some time ago
