Spectacle
I was not going to go to the party…at all.
I had no plan for the night.
I was okay with that.
My friends would not let me alone.
They made me dress, and come with them.
I hated that, but it was nice I guess.
I am not thick, just tired…
and no longer feel the need to karaoke,
or in my case…holler at strangers.
The bar was dark and the people smelled…funny.
I tried not to breath too deep.
Not that I am picky, it is a reaction to small places.
Nothing can be done at this point.
The table was tall, and there were no seats?
Why were there no seats?
I guess we came to dance, so setting was not necessary.
My dear friends, thought to remember plugs for their ears,
extras for the audience that I might at least hum this evening.
Yet, I ask, “did you bring blinders?”
As now… I will dance. (one glass of wine)
