Speck

It creeps up unnoticed, Just a speck on your lash You blink when you feel it, Yet it’s gone in a flash. It has places to travel, Over treetops and paths, To the mountains it whirls And growls with its wrath It flutters quite gently Across valleys and streams And makes a quick stop At a hopeful kid’s dreams Once it settles, it chills And makes your knees shake This mischievous traveler? Just a tiny snowflake.
