Special Song

A Black Capped Chickadee came along
Singing to me a sweet, special song
It landed right next to me, nearby
Looking at me as if wondering why?
Why isn’t everyone smiling today?
I smiled back, before it flew away
In a bird’s flight of freedom seen,
Come messages, anyone can glean

Yes, this chickadee has got the right idea!! I remember once many years ago, a friend of mine came home one June evening at 7:30 p.m., all tuckered out from a rough day at work. I rang the doorbell to pick up my daughter, who was baby-sitting. I heard my friend's five-year old son look at his father incredulously and ask, "What's wrong, Dad? The park's still open!" ~ Strictly NOT for the Birds! :) gw

Hearing birdsong makes feel closer to nature, and you forget the doom and gloom if only for a few minutes. Tom

Black Capped Chickadees always make my day, Heidi! I love seeing them at my thistle feeders and hearing their songs in my arborvitaes. They are special, indeed, and so is your beautiful appreciative poem. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan
