Special Friend
You have been such a good friend to me, through good and bad
Always willing to listen to what I had to say, no matter happy or sad
Continuously you wiped my tears, and calmed me when I was mad
All these years have gone by, and I failed to recognize what a blessing I had
Inspiring and a high flier, you have never ceased to amaze me
I want to let you know how proud I am, I want you to see what I see
You made it through rough times, you showed me how strong faith can be
Words can’t describe the beauty of your soul, it deserves a special key
So as you wake up each morning, know that you are one of kind
When you are sad and lonely, I hope it’s me who crosses your mind
I’ll be here until the end, reach out, it’s my hand you’ll find
Let me do for you as you do for me, let me be that special friend who leads you when you’re blind
Thank you for the gift you have so easily given away
Thank you for watching over me, even when it wasn’t easy to stay
Thank you for the love you give, but more than anything thank you for being simply just you
There is no doubt in my mind, you are my best friend who never fails to remain true
