Speaking the Letter P
Softly and tenderly one's lips meet
producing a small puff of air
here you have a letter of note
16th in alphabet stands alone so bare
Stands there between O and Q
so private stands so true and tall
brings great expression of sound
effecting indeed your every call
So personal and practical alone
especially joined with vowel or two
singers of stage and big screen
raising this sound higher they do
Polished and patient so strong
bringing character to many a word
this letter reaches many dimensions
ignorance of this truly absurd
So consider well all of your life
the times you've spoken this sound
a gift received of such value
preserved for new ages to astound
