Speak Softly

Memories from 2020:

Artist: Michelle Morris
Artist's Description:
Some people treat relationships like a cruel game. Hopefully in time, karma will teach them how it feels.

SPEAK SOFTLY
BY MICHELLE MORRIS

Chorus
Speak softly
Those words breaking my heart;
Better yet -
Stay silent
And stop them
Tearing me apart.

Speak softly
Those words I don't want to hear;
Better yet -
Let's forget this
And stay together.
(End Chorus)

As we depart on our
Separate roads,
I'm feeling cold;
I'm feeling alone;
I'm heartbroken;
My soul numbed.

You seem fine -
Moving forward...
Getting on with your life...
We're so out of time...
You forget so easily...
Everything I was meant to be.

Chorus

But so it goes,
One more invested in it,
And it certainly shows...
Three years later and
I still don't trust;
You're married again,
Never losing touch...

Of someone new,
Another game to play;
But will she be able to
Make you stay?
Your fickle heart,
Narcissistic ways;
A devil who always strays.

And she'll be the one to say:

Chorus

One day it will all come full circle,
And you'll be the one feeling the hurt...
You'll be begging someone to stay...
And they will just laugh at you and walk away.
