Speak Softly
Speak Softly
From quicksand we slay the snake with a string of pearls
Dissolve our fear as we speak with the muse inside
Original love floats softly to the living
Wash our tongue of gray woolen bits then send
some air past lips of honeyed breath
Original sound floats softly to the living
Weave our paper words through ashes of past experience
Feed the flames amid the chunks of ice
Original intent floats softly to the dying
