Speak Forth the Blessings
The lurking serpent wants you silent
Never more to say a word
Until your fate is sealed in darkness
Have you listened, surely heard?
He is speaking thoughts of dread
In subtlety he robs your blessings
Leaving you with fear instead
Your mind’s a fertile battleground
There is shouting from all sides
Hold fast to what the Spirit taught
And keep your heart where love abides
Don’t listen to the things he is saying
Surely there’s sweet victory if only you will stand
Remembering the promises are always yours
God has placed them in your hand
Speak forth the blessings of the Lord
In the secret place, in the comfort of His light
He will lift you up and keep you safe
With the trusted treasure of His might
