Spare a Thought
Spare a thought for the people that care
When we need them, Always there
Spare a thought for the soldier blue
In a far off place, protecting you
Spare a thought for the old and frail
In a home, their house for sale
Spare a thought for the immigrant too
He only wants the same as you
Spare a thought for the child in care
A single parent, close to despair
Spare a thought for the battered wife
Trapped in a marriage of trouble and strife
Spare a thought for those who are ill
Who need an operation or prescription pill
Spare a thought for those without work
Lost their job, and called a shirk
Spare a thought for you and me
That we see the light and give to thee
