Soul's Abode

charcoal clouds
  plunder unholy
bullets of rain
  on window
             panes of
                       pain

forlorn flutes
  summon
crows & ravens
  ebony eyes
hunger to
  abduct a
            pomegranate
                          ruby

in motions
  of seeking
deeper depths
  where words
drown spirits
  mind spins
               to lose
                    connection

disconnected
  dwelling within
the soul's abode
  whispers
soft & pure
  direct
towards
           a path
of lanterns
           reflecting a
                       starry night
in each breath
    in each sigh
like a flightless human
    sore spirit soars
to realms
            unseen
to worlds
            unknown

silent
  esoteric echoes
of mystic music
   willingly
manipulate melancholy
   as mute melodies
unlock gates of
                   Serenity &
                             sincerity

embracing stillness
   silhouettes &
shadows dissolve
   illuminating
the temple
  of a
human heart's
  soothed soul
resembling a
  golden orb halo
transcending in
  amber orange
                   horizons

free from confinement

I love how it explains what happens to someone in a flash of evocative metaphors. How we disconnect from the things we want to do or the dreams we plan to fulfil. But there's always a light to heal our broken spirits. Lovely written Silent.

I like the metaphors pomegranate ruby being a tearing at a heart. Bullets of rain on the pane of trauma. Till the north stars guide a change in mode, second wind carries its white horse with golden orb halo. Epic write, Silent One.

Your poem, Silent One, is a truly remarkable piece of work. I was particularly impressed by the structure and flow of your alliterative lines, which exuded a soft and soulful quality. The imagery of embracing stillness and the dissolution of silhouettes and shadows was particularly powerful, showcasing the profound impact of tranquility.

SO, this is a wonderful description of the human soul. My own thinking is we have reached a level where we can contemplate these things. You probably know what I think about souls, but I love the way you write about being human. Many yearn for transcendence.

towards a path of lanterns reflecting a starry night…perhaps Van Gogh reflections…stillness…silhouettes…shadows…love the golden orb and free from confinement…wrote a comment but accidentally erased it thinking it was an other poet’s page…sigh…Hugs ~ Kim

Enjoyed reading this one today. Sometimes we have those days where it seems like everything is gray and there are raindrops hitting the panes matching our pain for sure. Those days we experience the golden orb to light our mood is wonderful. Thanks for sharing this emotive and expressive one with us. Sara K
