Soulmates
Have you ever seen the northern lights
Mirrored in a still lake
The reflection captures its beautiful smile
As the lights begin to wake
The lights have found their soulmate
As they dance throughout the night
The reflection matches his every step
To her partners pure delight
The lake gives off a tiny ripple
As if it's trying to smile
The stars have all refused to shine
Lost, in blind denial
The Aura Borealis
Then quietly slips away
One more flash to say goodbye
For it has to end this way
The lake has lost her soulmate
For the lights have finished his dance
The reflection resumes it's slumber
Until its next romance
