Soulful Gratitude

In the difficult times of 2020 like these,
I’m restrained to do things that I’d please.
Life has lost rhythm in chaos of uncertainty,
but I go on getting spontaneous help in plenty.

Disconnected from outside world in isolation,
I don’t spend the stalled time in dull desolation.
To the helping hands of the neighbors I get access,
in appreciation I’m overwhelmed by their kindness.

How long would the trying times be I don’t know,
but they won’t let my fragile morale plummet low.
Even if black clouds disappear from my sky some day,
priceless debt to all these people I won’t be able to repay.

In their support the benevolence of God I see,
lifting my spirit from the abyss of miserable worry.
When the mind is permeated by hazy hope for nothing,
my soul is filled with gratitude, for they gave me His blessing.
